Abstract

Our study aims to know the role of technological incubators in supporting social innovation and a field study on a sample of technological incubators in Algeria, as we tried to answer the following questions: - Do technological incubators provide care services for innovative social projects? - Do technological incubators adhere to the social responsibility of social innovations? - What are the technological capabilities provided by the technological incubators for social innovations? The study was conducted between October 2023 until February 2024; Where the descriptive approach was relied upon, through the application of the electronic questionnaire tool to the managers of technological incubators, and the intentional sample, which reached 98 university incubators at the national level, was chosen. The following results have been reached: - Technology incubators provide administrative care and legal protection services for innovative projects, but they do not provide direct financial support for innovative projects, as they are limited to providing financial consultations and linking innovative projects with financial institutions and investors. -Technological incubators have a social responsibility towards social innovations, and these innovations address social problems that society suffers from. In addition, it seeks to spread the culture of social innovation and seeks to achieve job opportunities for unemployed youth. - The results indicated that technological nurseries depend on theoretical and applied research in the period of incubation of innovative projects. Technology incubators offer a set of technical training such as digitization technology, software, artificial intelligence, and its applications.
